چکیده

Importance sampling lattice simulations are able to provide vital information about the nature of the temperature driven phase transition for 2 and 3 color Yang-Mills theories with and without matter fields (see [ 5, 6] for 3 colors). At zero temperature the SU(N) Yang-Mills theory is asymptotically free, and the physical spectrum of the theory consists of a tower of hadronic states referred to as glueballs and pseudoscalar glueballs. The theory develops a mass gap and the lightest glueball has a mass of the order of few times the confining scale. The classical theory possesses conformal symmetry, while quantum corrections lead to a non-vanishing trace of the energy momentum tensor.

Thin and dressed Polyakov loops from spectral sums of lattice differential operators

We represent thin and dressed Polyakov loops as spectral sums of eigenvalues of differential operators on the lattice. For that purpose we calculate complete sets of eigenvalues of the staggered Dirac and the covariant Laplace operator for several temporal boundary conditions. The spectra from different boundary conditions can be combined such that they represent single (thin) Polyakov loops, o...

Polyakov Loops and Finite-Size Effects of Hadron Masses in Lattice Full QCD

The polarization of Polyakov type loops is responsible for the difference between quenched and unquenched finite size effects on the QCD mass spectrum. With a numerical simulation, using different sea quarks boundary conditions, we show that we can align the spatial Polyakov loops in a predefined direction. Starting from these results, we propose a procedure to partially remove the Polyakov typ...

We describe results for the confinement-deconfinement phase transition as predicted by the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model where the local and quantum Polyakov loop is coupled to the constituent quarks in a minimal way (PNJL). We observe that the leading correlation of two Polyakov loops describes the chiral transition accurately. The effects of the current quark mass on the transition are also analys...

Renormalization of Polyakov loops in fundamental and higher representations

We compare two renormalization procedures, one based on the short distance behavior of heavy quark-antiquark free energies and the other by using bare Polyakov loops at different temporal entent of the lattice and find that both prescriptions are equivalent, resulting in renormalization constants that depend on the bare coupling. Furthermore these renormalization constants show Casimir scaling ...

Effective Potential for Polyakov Loops in Lattice QCD

Precise measurement of Polyakov loop correlation is important for finite temperature physics. First of all heavy quark potentials at finite temperature are obtained by measuring twoPolyakov-loop correlation functions. It is already well-known that we can obtain the QQ̄ potential below and above the critical temperature (TC) from this measurement. Due to the nonperturbative effects, however, ther...
